Why Train your Employees? Everybody needs to improve their skills - younger people are at the start of their careers and generally lack experience so they need help in order to gain this. Older employees may need to be brought up to date with new techniques/technology. Benefits to the Organisation Business success depends upon providing a quality product or service. Poorly trained employees generally produce poor goods or services. The benefits to any organisation are many but include: * Development of core skills and tools: training means smarter and more effective employees. How does the UK compare? In the UK only 28% of the population have intermediate skills compared with 51% in France and 65% in Germany, and this has a direct impact on productivity. French and German workers produce between a quarter and a third more in every hour than their British counterparts. If we don't continuously train then we will get left behind. There are massive opportunities but only when we are equipped to take advantage. Studies have shown the falsity of the old myth that training people only prepares them to join another employer. The evidence is to the contrary.
